Description

Keith Jackson interviews Houston Gamblers QB Jim Kelly during the halftime show of the 1984 USFL Championship Game. They discuss winning the MVP that year, the Run N Shoot offense, rumors of Mouse Davis leaving for Denver's head coaching position and much more.

Keith also interviews the then head coach of the Miami Hurricanes Howard Schnellenberger. Fresh off of his national championship win against Nebraska in the Orange Bowl they discuss the new Miami franchise in which he would be leading for the 1985 USFL season.

The Washington Federals franchise were relocating to Florida pending new ownership approval in Miami. Of course that never happened and the Federals ended up in Orlando as the Renegades. Schnellenberger was out and stayed coaching at the college level for another university.

Finally, Lynn Swann looks back at the great celebrated moments in the USFL after a touchdown. The NFL didn't allow its players to dance anymore after a score. The USFL made it a point during all of their seasons that players had the freedom to express themselves when scoring in the end zone.
